Happy 5th Birthday Jacob!

Jacob, I cannot believe you are 5 today! It seems just like yesterday that I found out I was pregnant with you. We tried for over a year to have you and the day I found out I was pregnant, was one of the happiest days of my life. From the time you entered this world, you have been a carefree soul. You slept through the night at 6 wks. and were the happiest baby next to your brother that I have ever seen. To this day, you are still happy go lucky and such a good little boy. There is not too much you are afraid of, you take everything head on! You love your big brother with everything in you and imitate almost everything he does- the good and the bad! You are a mommy's boy and I LOVE it!!! You love to cuddle and love when mommy rubs your face and hair. You love your daddy and get so excited when he gets home from work. You and your brother spend every night outside with daddy playing baseball and basketball or whatever else you feel like playing. You love your Aunt Mindy, she's one of your favorite people. You love your grandparents and great-grandparents and get so excited when you see them. You love all things outdoors, you prefer being outside above anything. You run everywhere, you play non-stop and when you hit the pillow at night, you are out cold! You have mastered the monkey bars and didn't quit trying until you did! You love playing baseball, basketball, Super Hero Squad, GI Joe, Legos, Lincoln Logs and pretty much anything that you can use your imagination with. You love building tents with you brother and playing video games under them! You did well in preschool and are going to begin Kindergarten in a few months. You have a sweet spirit about you and make us laugh all the time. I pray that you always allow God and Joy to reign in your life and that whatever you do in this life, you do it unto Him. Always keep God in the center and He will direct your paths. I love you my baby boy, you are such a joy and I am so thankful for you.

Birthday Party and Sleepover with Friends

Yesterday, we headed to Ft Branch for Zack and Zane's 10th birthday party. I have been friends with Laurie since I was 2 years old and our husbands and kids automatically became friends. We usually have a blast when we're together and yesterday was no different. The kids played outside on the slip and slide, played baseball, jumped on the trampoline, had cake, and ate cheeseburgers and hot dogs. Laurie's boys wanted my boys to spend the night (and my boys begged to stay too), so we let them. They were so excited to stay since they don't get to very often. (Laurie took some pictures of the sleepover, so I copied her pics). I can't wait to hear how much fun they had last night and what time they finally fell asleep! I am really surprised we didn't get a call from Laurie last night asking us to come and get Jacob. He is still uneasy about spending the night with people but his big brother was there, so I'm guessing he did alright!

Holiday World, oh how we LOVE you!

We LOVE Holiday World and we are so thankful for passes every year. We use to get them for Christmas from my parents (all 4 of us) but Brad used his only a few times during the season, so my parents started getting the kids their passes for their birthdays. I buy my pass and Brad gets a couple discounted tickets during a season. The boys and I usually go 2 to 3 times a week and we love it! During the summer season, we swim until we're wrinkled beyond recognition!!!! During the spring and fall season, we ride all the rides we can fit into a day! Today we visited for the first time this season, a little later than usual! We went swimming all day at the wave pool, the kids and I had a blast!

First Day of Summer Break

The first day of Summer Break was Wednesday, May 26 and the kids and I were suppose to go strawberry picking. Plans changed, the patch was closed so we headed to the movies. There was an ozone alert for the day, so I decided we needed something indoors where it was cool. I didn't tell the boys where we were going, it was a complete surprise. We pulled up to the movie theater and they were happy! We watched the new Shrek movie, it was really cute. It was a nice start to summer break!

Awards Day at Loge

Today was Awards Day at Loge Elementary and Jordan received the Honor Roll Award, Accelerated Reader Award and an award for the Summer Reading Program from our local library. He made Principal's List (straight A's) for 3 out of 4 grading periods this year, the other grading period (the first one) he received 2 B's and the rest A's! I am so proud of him, he has learned so much and has grown up so much during this year. I am thankful that once again, he had an excellent teacher, Mrs. Holland! I cannot believe tomorrow at 2:50 p.m., I will be the mother of a 4th grader!

At the Park

Today we went to Fortress of Fun with some of our good friends. We went to celebrate Anna Brown's 6th birthday. She had a birthday party last weekend but we had a day at the park because today is her "real" birthday. We had lunch and the kids played for over 2 hours. I took my nephew Justin with us and the kids had a blast!

The Count Down is On!

I intended to post this when I made the sign (May 11) but I didn't-lol! We are so excited about going on a family vacation this summer. It has been 3 years (sad I know) since our last BIG trip. We have been on 2 major trips since we've had kids. In 2004 we took Jordan to Disney World/Beach and in 2007, we took the boys to DelRay Beach in FL and traveled down to Miami and the surrounding areas. We take several mini vacations every year and we always have a blast together! This year we are going to Outer Banks, NC and we are so excited. We are staying for an entire week in a house 1/2 mile from the beach. We plan on going on a dolphin cruise, driving down to Oracoke Island to go on a pirate ship on the ocean, tour several lighthouses, take a Wild Horse jeep ride and many, many more exciting things. We are going with my parents and Brad's parents, this will be our first vacation to travel with both sets. We are looking forward to getting away and spending quality time together. Bring on vacation!!!

Line Drives Don't Feel So Good

I mentioned before, that my kids love playing baseball. Our rule (because we live in town and close to other houses) is, that they can only play with a wiffle ball and wiffle bat in the back yard. The only exception to the rule is if their daddy is playing with them and he can hit them grounders or pop flies for practicing their fielding. On Mother's Day, Jacob wanted to show his Grandma Fuller that he can swing on his own now. So I sent both boys outside with their Grandma Fuller and next thing I know, Jacob is screaming. It was getting chilly out, so Grandma Fuller went to the car to grab a jacket and when she came back, Jacob was hurt. The boys had started playing "real" baseball, with a "real" baseball (not a t-ball, they are softer) in the back yard as soon as she left for the car. Jacob was looking at the dog next door and Jordan hit a line drive to Jacob and Jacob literally, didn't see it coming. Our first black eye ever! I was calm, he was freaked out. We applied ice for 15 minutes and it looked worse than the above picture ( I didn't think to journal it until a few days later). I am thankful he is fine and that after having BOYS for 9 years, that this is the worst thing that I have encountered in the injury department!

Welcome to Tastee Freeze, Can I Take Your Order?

We bought Jacob the Ice Cream Shoppe Play Dough set for his preschool graduation. The kids have been playing Tastee Freeze (a local ice cream hang out in Boonville) ever since. I keep my nephew Justin two days a week and Thursday he had a cold, so I kept the boys inside. They played Tastee Freeze for hours, they had a blast.

Our Version of The Sandlot!

There is something nostalgic about baseball. It's America's game. It's the game preferred by the Fuller boys. It is played every day at the Fuller house. Rain or shine and Snow or Ice. Our favorite movie is The Sandlot and yes I allow my children to watch it, I have it memorized so we mute it when the two cuss words are said! It is an adorable movie that our family has grown to love. The boys remind of the kids in The Sandlot, baseball 24/7. I wish today's world was more like the world portrayed in the movie. Carefree, laid back, get your buddies together and play ball from sun up, to sun down. No worries, just be a kid. No travel teams to separate the good from the not so good, no competition. Just good, clean fun! We have our little version of The Sandlot in our back yard in the small town of Boonville, Indiana. Most days, it's Jordan, Jacob and their daddy. Other days, it's Jordan, Jacob and their cousin Justin. Every day, it is fun and apart of their childhood that they will remember forever!
