Jacob's Kindergarten Field Trip

Back in April (Good Friday), both kids had their school field trips. Brad was off and was able to go to Lincoln State Park with Jordan. He was so excited that his dad was able to come with him. I went with Jacob to the Children's Museum of Evansville. He had a ball hanging out with his buddies and exploring the museum.

Line Drives Don't Feel So Good

I mentioned before, that my kids love playing baseball. Our rule (because we live in town and close to other houses) is, that they can only play with a wiffle ball and wiffle bat in the back yard. The only exception to the rule is if their daddy is playing with them and he can hit them grounders or pop flies for practicing their fielding. On Mother's Day, Jacob wanted to show his Grandma Fuller that he can swing on his own now. So I sent both boys outside with their Grandma Fuller and next thing I know, Jacob is screaming. It was getting chilly out, so Grandma Fuller went to the car to grab a jacket and when she came back, Jacob was hurt. The boys had started playing "real" baseball, with a "real" baseball (not a t-ball, they are softer) in the back yard as soon as she left for the car. Jacob was looking at the dog next door and Jordan hit a line drive to Jacob and Jacob literally, didn't see it coming. Our first black eye ever! I was calm, he was freaked out. We applied ice for 15 minutes and it looked worse than the above picture ( I didn't think to journal it until a few days later). I am thankful he is fine and that after having BOYS for 9 years, that this is the worst thing that I have encountered in the injury department!

Jacob's 1st T-ball Practice

It's officially baseball season at the Fuller house! Jacob had his first t-ball practice on March 30 and he was so excited. He has a great coach and has his cousin Isaac Wittman on his team! It is going to be a fun season because this kid LOVES baseball!

When You Fall, You Have to Get Back Up!

Jacob has been wanting to learn how to ride his bike without training wheels. We are going to the cabins at Lincoln State Park during Spring Break next week and he's determined he's going to do it. My dad taught Jordan how to ride his bike, so he came over about a week ago and began working with Jacob. Jacob was such a trooper and will be riding before long. He says he wants to ride with the big boys (Jordan -8 and Justin-my nephew who is 6) when we go to Lincoln. He may very well do that because when he fell, he got right back up and tried again!

Valentine Party - Jacob

Valentine's Day ~ another excuse to have a party at school! Jacob's preschool party was Fri., Feb. 12 and it was a wonderful party. The kids played several games, decorated their own sugar cookies, made an alien card holder for their Valentines and had story time. Jacob loves preschool and is learning so much. It is hard to believe in a few weeks we will be signing him up for his first year of baseball and in April, it will be Kindergarten Roundup. Where has the time gone?

Jordan and Jacob's Christmas Program

On Sunday, December 13, the boys had their Christmas program at church. Jordan and Brad played a father and son that was wrapped up in the commercial meaning of Christmas. Jacob played Joseph during a scene and during the rest of the program while the commercial and true meaning of Christmas were being played out back and forth, Jacob sang with the other kids. He hammed it up, doing cartwheels and dancing like the people in River Dance. It was so awesome to see my kids (who were once shy) on stage singing for the Lord.

Jacob and Anna

I watched Miss Anna Brown today for Nic and the kids were playing firefighters so I had to snap a few pics. They play good together 90% of the time and have their occasional disagreements. They remind me of an old, married couple! They are super cute kids, if I do say so myself!

Simply Jacob

I wish I had blogging when Jordan was little. I wrote things in his baby book but I know I missed a lot of things! Jacob is full of unexpected conversations! We were driving home from WalMart this morning and he says to me, "Mommy, do you know that the devil lives in our vents". I said, "Oh, he does"! "Yes, he does and Jesus lives in our heart", he said. I said, "Yes Jacob, Jesus lives in our heart". Jacob then says, "Jesus is going to come out of our heart and go into the vents and fight the devil and Jesus is going to win". I was speechless and just laughed!
Then we go from the devil and Jesus to the science of bowel movements. He then tells me where #1 and #2 come from and were they go. He even says that #2 splashes into the water! I was laughing so hard, I could barely see the road to drive. Where does he come up with this stuff?

Day at the Park

Kaylen, Jacob, Kendall and Christopher

Jordan, Camryn and Summer

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous the last 2-3 weeks and we have seized every opportunity to be outside that we could get!!! We've been to the spray park and to the Fortress of Fun several times in the last few weeks. The kids have really enjoyed being outside so much and not sweating to death!

Of course my boys can't go anywhere without wanting friends to come along. We've managed to get a lot of play dates in with their friends.

Old Friends, New Friends and Beautiful Weather

Friday, both of the boys went their separate ways for the weekend. Jordan went camping with my in-laws and it was Jacob's turn to spend the weekend with my parents. This meant that Brad and I were kid less all weekend!
Friday night we went out to dinner with some friends from church, Nikki and Vince. We ate at the Tin Fish on Marina Point overlooking the Ohio River. It was a beautiful night, actually chilly for July. Afterwards we met some more friends, Stacey and Bobby and went bowling. We had an awesome evening and Brad and I are so thankful for the new relationships we've made in the last three years.
Saturday, Brad had to work some overtime (thank God) and I headed to my friend Rebekah's (since elem. school) house to meet her and another friend, Leisa (since middle school) to put up sweet corn for winter. Rebekah's parents own a farm in Spencer County and grow sweet corn. We picked it, shucked it, washed it, boiled it and scrapped it off the cob. We started at 10:00 and ended around 5:30! It was a lot of work but we had a blast just hanging out in the kitchen and talking. I am so glad Rebekah and her family has moved back home!
So to right now, Monday evening. Again, we woke up to another beautiful day. Thank you Lord for this weather. I asked the kids what they wanted to do today and they said, "Meet Mamaw Knight for lunch at Roca Bar and eat outside". So we met my mom, sister and nephew at Roca Bar for lunch and then headed to Fortress of Fun to play. The kids had so much fun playing at the park and the highlight was the ice cream man coming and the kids got to buy ice cream! We headed home and the kids are now outside playing none other than............. BASEBALL with their daddy in the back yard.
My house is a mess, my eyebrows need to be waxed, my hair needs to be cut and I have TONS of laundry to do but spending time with my kids is WAY more important than all of that!!!! We have had an awesome day and better than that, we are ending it with some Tastee Freeze Ice Cream!!!!! Life is good!
