Jake & Mom Date

Jake is my reader- I pray he always stays that way!  We were watching tv about a week ago and Barnes & Noble's Christmas commercial came on.  Jake was asking questions about it- did we have one, where is it & can you take me there?  He had two games Saturday morning and I had to take pictures for some friends, so our morning was booked.  Brad was working so I waited until he was off, met him in Evansville- I dropped Jordan off to him and Jake and I headed to the bookstore.  He was in heaven.  We spent about an hour and half looking at books, sitting around talking about different things he wanted to learn about by reading books.  It was such a fun date!  After our stop at the bookstore, I treated him to ice cream at GD Ritzy's.  When Brad and I were dating, Barnes and Noble & GD Ritzy's ice cream were a favorite of ours.  I was so happy to share our dating spot with Jacob.  I pray he always loves to read- now I get to plan a date out with Jordan!!!!  Love my boys to pieces!

BYBA & Great Grandma

Jake played in his third BYBA game today.  He had a double header today against the Blue and Yellow team.  His team hasn't won a game but he hustles like none other out on the court.  He is juggling BYBA and Boonville Feeder Travel League along with church activities and school.  He will be adding baseball practice to his 8 year old schedule in January.  He is definitely not a perfect kid, we've actually been working on attitude lately but he is a wonderful little boy who gives 150% to everything he does!  His biggest fan, Great Grandma Chandler came to his double header today.  She is a basketball fan, especially women's basketball and IU!!!  I am so thankful that my kids have a relationship with their great grandparents!

The Best Decision Ever!

My sweet young man gave his heart to the Lord Sunday night (11-3-13) during youth group.  He has accomplished many things in his young life but this is by far the greatest accomplishment. Our pastor was so excited, announcing that 7 teens either gave their heart to Christ for the first time or recommitted their life to Him.  I was overjoyed when Jordan came to us, with tears in his eyes and when we asked him if he was one of them - his response was YES!  I melted into a million pieces inside.  I know God has a plan for him, I don't know what but I know in my heart that he will do big things for God.  He is a quiet young man with a huge heart. He is a gentle giant and is being molded into a man after God's own heart.  I pray God uses me to speak LIFE into him, to help him continue on this path that God has laid before him.  I pray I do not cause him to stumble and that I can always lead by example.  Our God is amazing in all HIS ways, HIS love for HIS children continues to amaze me everyday.  Even when we are brats, HE loves us anyway.  I praise God for what HE is doing in Jordan's life!  I am thankful for his youth leaders and the sacrifices they make for our youth! (And a special thanks goes out to The Wongler's for bringing Jordan a "second birthday" cake and card for his decision!!!!)
