Jordan's School Picture

Jordan is now in 3rd grade and is doing great. The first 9 wks. were a struggle to learn to be more responsible and independent but he is slowly but surely doing better. He made the Honor Roll for the first 9wks. and is doing pretty good this 9 wks. He still enjoys all things sports and will be starting basketball practice the week of Nov. 9. We are super excited to see him play because he has moved to a new league that will be more competitive! He is a super sweet, soft hearted boy and I wouldn't change a thing about him- oh wait, maybe his listening skills!

Jordan's 1st Science Project

Jordan had to make a robot for his 3rd grade science class. It could be made of any materials from around the house. We chose styrofoam and sprayed it gray. His name is Carpenter 300 (named after Chris Carpenter, a pitcher for the Cards) and he is a pitching machine robot. He comes with diff. speeds to pitch to you. Jordan had to present his robot to his class today, I am anxious to see what kind of grade he receives!

Jacob and Anna

I watched Miss Anna Brown today for Nic and the kids were playing firefighters so I had to snap a few pics. They play good together 90% of the time and have their occasional disagreements. They remind me of an old, married couple! They are super cute kids, if I do say so myself!

Fall Break at Lake Rudolph

Fall Break for Warrick County was last Friday and Monday (16 and 19 of Oct.) and we spent our break camping at Lake Rudolph with my parents and my sister, bro-in-law and nephew. Last year was our first year to camp during Halloweekends and we had so much fun we wanted to go again. This time we went in style and my parents rented a King Size RV and it was so nice! Lake Rudolph is a camp ground/RV resort next to Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN. During the last weekend of Sept. through Halloween weekend they host Halloweekends, a variety of activities to do for Halloween/Fall. On Friday night, they had hayrides and movie night but it was raining and really chilly, so we stayed in the camper and made s'mores over the fire and the kids watched Monsters vs Aliens on the laptop. Saturday morning the kids went to the Halloween carnival and played games, drew on pumpkins and made Halloween pillows/trick or treat bags. On Sat. night, the kids went trick-or-treating around the campground. The kids had a blast and I look forward to doing it again next year. I love this time of year!!

Church Hayride/Bonfire

The Beard's hosted our church's 3rd annual hayride/bonfire on Oct. 10. We had perfect weather, good food and awesome fellowship. My boys were so filthy at the end of the evening but they enjoyed every minute!!! Thanks Bobby and Stacey for being the perfect host/hostess!

Pumpkin Time

This past weekend, we had some free time to enjoy the weather and spend some family time together. We headed to Nadine's here in town and the kids each picked a pumpkin out of the patch. Afterwards, we went back to the house and carved them. It was such a beautiful day to spend outside and the kids loved drawing the face on their pumpkin and helping Brad carve the face out!

Spider Week at Jacob's preschool

This week Jacob's preschool theme is spiders and today was his turn to bring in a snack. So far we've gotten cool themes to make our snack around! I found this on the web (wish it was my idea) and thought it would be easy to make. It was more of pain than I thought because the O*eos kept breaking! Jake has 8 kids in his class so I made 9 cookies and sent the remaining pretzels and cookies for them to eat. His teacher let the kids make their own spider cookies after they ate the one we made. I am loving being able to bring in homemade snacks! The spider theme week will end on Friday with a special spider guest, Jacob says someone is bringing in real spiders for them to see!

Jacob's Preschool Progress

Jacob is loving preschool. This progress report was sent home today on the things he has learned since the end of Aug. He amazes me every day with recognizing letters, numbers and words. He can read some sight words, which blows me away. I am so proud of him and so thankful we decided to enroll him into a preschool!
