Paoli Summer Blast - 10U Rookies

Our Rookies went 4-0 on the weekend to win the 2016 Paoli Summer Blast!  Rookie Rumble is this weekend, then the World Series in Owensboro.  The season has flown by!  The boys have done well and have had a blast this Spring/Summer!

Another Fun Day at Holiday World

These boys love hanging out together, especially at Holiday World.  Jake's purchase of a pass with his birthday money has been a great investment this Summer!

Kentuckiana State Tourney - 10U Rookies

Kentuckiana State: Rookies leave pool play with a #2 seed and beat KY Cannons 9-1 Saturday night, Game 1 of the tournament.  Sun. Game 2 vs Eville East Aces (#1 seed): Rookies hot bats tallied 17 runs and outlast Aces 17-10.

Game 3 vs Louisville Hornets (#1 seed): Hornets take advantage of our pitching/defense and score 8 in 1st inning. After 3 innings, we are down 12-3. Rookies dug a hole the size of the Grand Canyon. One hit at a time our boys scored 9 in the 4th to tie the game 12-12 and push us past 90 minute time limit. International tie breaker (runner on 2nd) in effect. Rookies score 1 in the 5th and hold Hornets to 1. Score 13-13. Rookies score 2 in the 6th and hold Hornets to 2. Score 15-15. In the 7th inning Rookies explode for 9 runs winning 24-17. This was the best comeback these boys have had. In the moment, you knew our boys were learning a life lesson on the baseball field!
 

Championship rematch from 2015 World Series vs Bombers: Rookies put up 3 in the first but that would be all as our boys ran out of gas. As physically drained as our boys were, the coaches and parents were equally emotionally exhausted as "we believed" through every pitch and play. Good weekend Rooks!

Otter Creek Youth - Missions Trip 2016

That's a wrap! We are packed up and headed home (and trying to talk our new friend Into coming with us). Stopping in Nashville for a few hours of fun and then headed your way Boonville!

Day Trip to Louisville for Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day a little late this year.  Yesterday we headed to Louisville for the day to visit the Bass Pro Shop, Joe's Crab Shack and whatever else came our way!  We enjoyed a delicious lunch then went shopping.  After shopping, we explored the surrounding town of New Albany IN for ice cream!  We found a great little ice cream shop called the Comfy Cow.  The ice cream was soooo good!  The only thing that would have made the day better was if Jordan were with us!

Otter Creek Youth - Missions Trip 2016

YAY- I finally get to post about my other son!!!!  Jordan and his youth group from Otter Creek are in Nashville TN all week.  They are on a missions trip, partnered with Radius Mission Camps.  He's been serving kids in Nashville's inner city.  They prepare meals, clean up, run activities throughout the day and then head back to the mission host site and have service with other youth groups.  He seems to be having a great time.  He's been gone since July 4 and will return tomorrow, July 8.  I am so proud of him, I pray God uses him in a mighty way.
