Decking the Halls

Friday evening we decorated the tree. Each ornament has a story behind it, a reason it was purchased. The boys love looking through them before we hang them on the tree. Jordan enjoyed that so much this year, that he hung maybe 5 ornaments! He sat on the floor looking through the rubber maid container, handing them to Jake, reading each box or guessing what the ornament meant. Jake received a soccer ornament from his coach this year and that was the first one on the tree this year. He carried it around the entire time we were getting the tree set in the base and the lights/beads on. He was so excited! Decorating is done, now we need to sit back and enjoy what this season is all about. God, I pray that we remember the true meaning of this time and not let the busyness of the season get to us.

Ahren's Christmas Tree Farm '10

Yesterday, we took our annual trip to the Christmas tree farm in Reo, Indiana. We usually put our tree up either Thanksgiving weekend or the weekend after. Next weekend is Jordan's basketball tourney, so we had to go this weekend. It had snowed the night before,( just a tiny bit) and the boys were so excited to see some snow! It took us an hour to find a tree, they were all pathetic looking. We usually start in the back of the farm and work our way to the front. Every year we always find one right away in the back but this year we found one in the very front!!! We bought a 6 1/2 foot Douglas Fir this year and it is gorgeous. The last picture of the boys is with the tree we chose. I love this tradition, it is one I carried over from my childhood. The boys look forward to it every year and my husband, well he's another story!

Thanksgiving '10

This year the photos are few and far between! I am trying to make a point to enjoy the holidays more and not always have a camera around my neck! My cousin Caytee took most of the pics of Thanksgiving this year. We enjoyed Thanksgiving at my sister and brother-in-laws house with my both sides of our family. My Grandma and Grandpa Chandler and Grandma Knight were there and some of my aunts, uncles and cousins. There were many that were sick this year and my Aunt Debbie had to work, which I don't like (my dad also had to go in to work that afternoon). We ate and ate, there was tons of food. After we left my sister's house, we headed to Spencer County for Thanksgiving with Brad's mom and dad. We stuffed our mouths again and then headed to the Shrine Circus. This was my 14th consecutive year to attend the circus and it's still not my favorite thing to do, I won't lie! The kids seemed to enjoy themselves, Jake fell asleep towards the end. Needless to say, it was a long day for the Fuller's but we are so blessed to have such a wonderful family. God is so good to us and we give all the thanks to Him!

Debra's Wedding 11.13.10

My cousin Debra got married on Saturday and she was beautiful. The wedding was gorgeous! We spent the evening with my dad's family and had a great time! I wish Debra and her husband a life time of happiness.

Newburgh Lock & Dam

A week ago, we enjoyed a play date at the park with Jacob's school buddies and their moms. The kids have so much fun playing together while the moms hang out and discuss a variety of topics! It is so nice to know other moms go through the same things I do! Since preschool ended in May, we have met every month (sometimes twice a month) so the kids can play and have fun together. The kids go to the same school and have made new friends, like Cooper along the way. I am so thankful for the friendships I have made with these ladies!

Trunk or Treat 2010

This year Soul Savers Kids Church used the themes: Jesus is the Rock and He Rolled my Blues Away and Autumn Leaves, Jesus Never Does. We had a great turn out for Trunk or Treat. The kids were good and very helpful. Once it was over, we took the kids trick or treating around the neighborhood near the church. Again, you could have not asked for better kids. We took 15 kids with us and every one of them listened and said "thank you" when they received candy. It was a great Halloween this year!
