Serve One Another

Sunday, we had the privilege of serving lunch at a local homeless shelter.  It was definitely an eye opening, heart changing experience for us all.  We served chili, pb sandwiches, green beans and cake to the men and women in the shelter.  They remained seated and we had the honor of waiting on them, serving them with love.  Jesus called us to serve one another with love, it is definitely better to give than to receive but wow- I received a bigger blessing than I could have ever imagined!

Busy, Busy, Busy - So Much Has Happened in a Month!!!

In the matter of a month's time, the weather has switched from Fall to Winter, sport of choice has changed from Baseball to Basketball, I've turned a year older and there's been many firsts in our house!

We attended our church's annual hayride and weenie roast at our pastor's house on Oct. 18.  We had a great time spending the evening with our church family.  I celebrated my 38th birthday on Nov. 6, time sure does fly.  I definitely do not feel 38 and I'm in denial that I'm 2 years from 40!  Ugg!  My girlfriends from high school and I got together and painted wooden door hangers for Christmas on Nov. 1.  We had a great time and they turned out beautiful!!!  Brad's been working hard, he is such a great dad and husband.  He recently had an interview for a new job but as of now, he hasn't heard back from the company.  I know God's timing is everything and if he's meant to get it, he will!

Jacob made student council this year and they visited a local nursing home on Oct. 23.  Jacob attended his first dance on Nov. 7 and had a great time hanging out with his buddies.  He's Mr. Social, we cannot keep up with his schedule!  He had a sleepover at his buddy Caden's house to celebrate Caden's 10th birthday party on Nov. 14.  Jacob is in full basketball mode- he's been playing on 3 different teams: 4th grade Loge basketball, Travel ball and BYBA.  He's having a blast, which is what it's all about.  He has straight A's and is balancing everything like a champ!

Jordan is in full basketball mode.  He still refuses to take pics - I have to beg and I get one every now and again!  It must have to do with being a teenager!  He's been practicing basketball every day after school, his team is 2-0.  He and Brad went to a Broncos vs Rams game on Nov. 16 in St. Louis!  The Broncos lost but they had a great time.  The weather was terrible for them, it snowed and iced on their way home!  Jordan is doing ok in school, it's still a struggle for him.  His grades are improving and so is his attitude.  He can do anything he wants, if he puts his mind to it.  He's been keeping busy with his friends from his youth group- they've been paint balling and working on remodeling their youth room.  He is definitely growing into a Godly young man, I pray God shows him what he wants for him.  I know He has a plan for him- his heart is so big!

The weather has been crazy in Southern Indiana.  It followed Brad and Jordan home from St. Louis-lol!  We received about 5-6 inches of snow overnight on Nov. 16-the kids had their first snow day on Nov. 17!  My boys had a blast playing in the snow-it was so cold, I don't see how they stayed out as long as they did!  Today is Nov. 21 and it's warmed up some.  It's suppose to be 60 degrees this weekend!  So much has happened in a month, I'm so busy with home and work that I've neglected to blog.  Hopefully I can keep up with everyone, after all I am 2 years away from 40-lol!!!  Now on to getting the house ready for Thanksgiving dinner and then Christmas and more basketball, basketball, basketball!!!!  So thankful for my life, I am blessed beyond measure!
