Old Friends, New Friends and Beautiful Weather

Friday, both of the boys went their separate ways for the weekend. Jordan went camping with my in-laws and it was Jacob's turn to spend the weekend with my parents. This meant that Brad and I were kid less all weekend!
Friday night we went out to dinner with some friends from church, Nikki and Vince. We ate at the Tin Fish on Marina Point overlooking the Ohio River. It was a beautiful night, actually chilly for July. Afterwards we met some more friends, Stacey and Bobby and went bowling. We had an awesome evening and Brad and I are so thankful for the new relationships we've made in the last three years.
Saturday, Brad had to work some overtime (thank God) and I headed to my friend Rebekah's (since elem. school) house to meet her and another friend, Leisa (since middle school) to put up sweet corn for winter. Rebekah's parents own a farm in Spencer County and grow sweet corn. We picked it, shucked it, washed it, boiled it and scrapped it off the cob. We started at 10:00 and ended around 5:30! It was a lot of work but we had a blast just hanging out in the kitchen and talking. I am so glad Rebekah and her family has moved back home!
So to right now, Monday evening. Again, we woke up to another beautiful day. Thank you Lord for this weather. I asked the kids what they wanted to do today and they said, "Meet Mamaw Knight for lunch at Roca Bar and eat outside". So we met my mom, sister and nephew at Roca Bar for lunch and then headed to Fortress of Fun to play. The kids had so much fun playing at the park and the highlight was the ice cream man coming and the kids got to buy ice cream! We headed home and the kids are now outside playing none other than............. BASEBALL with their daddy in the back yard.
My house is a mess, my eyebrows need to be waxed, my hair needs to be cut and I have TONS of laundry to do but spending time with my kids is WAY more important than all of that!!!! We have had an awesome day and better than that, we are ending it with some Tastee Freeze Ice Cream!!!!! Life is good!

Warrick County 4H Fair

Tonight we went with some friends of ours, the Beard's and the Brown's to the Warrick County 4H Fair. It has been five years or more since we have gone. We started out at the horse barn and the kids would have stayed there all night if we would have let them!
Jacob and Kendall peeking at the horses!

Jacob wasn't afraid, he tried to feed some of them.

Kaylen

Jordan liked the goats!

So did Jake! We had a good time but it will probably be another five years before we go again. Between the stickiness of the heat and the kids wanting everything, five years will be just fine!

Jacob's first t-ball game at Metro!

We have been waiting for this moment without wanting time to fly by and Jacob to grow up!!! He played tonight on his first t-ball league!!! We were so excited!!!
Baseball comes natural to him and he loves playing.

Practicing his batting before he was up to bat!

He did so good tonight, I just wish it was more than 6 weeks!!!

Scales Lake with Friends

Last Friday, July 10, we went to Scales Lake with Nic and her girls and Stacey and her girls. My boys and I have never been to Scales to swim. We live right down the road but memories from swimming in Lincoln Lake as a kid have never left me, so we've never gone!!! There are many reasons I don't like swimming in lakes but I put that aside because my friends said it was a clean lake.
They were right, you could see the bottom!!! The kids had SO much fun swimming and playing in the sand!

Kaylen and Jordan

The kids were making sandcastles and moats and at one time, we had four or five other kids playing with ours.

Autumn

We took a couple of snack breaks and of course, Jacob wanted ice cream!

It was really nice because there was a slide Jacob's size in the shallow end. He loved it and went down it about a hundred times! Jordan rode the bigger water slide.

4th of July with Friends and Frogs????

On the 4th, we spent the evening at our friends the Meleski's for our church picnic. They live off of Hunter Road and their house sits back in the woods, so you can imagine the creatures that live there! If you know of my boys obsession with frogs, they were in frog heaven there. They love going out to Autumn and Summer's house! Above is Autumn and Camryn with a few of the many, many, many frogs the kids found that night!

Summer

The kids loved swinging on the tire swing! My in-laws have one out on their property and the boys love it too!

Watching the fireworks!!! The fireworks display was awesome, thanks to the men!!! There was a little accident near the end but thankfully no one was hurt! A canister fell over and was aimed for the house, it broke a window, God's hand was definitely protecting us!!! We had an awesome evening!

On June 26, we headed to St. Louis for a three day weekend!!! We had an AWESOME time at the game!!! It was the boys first trip to the Arch and the entire family's first trip to a Major League Ball Game (my parents second game), the Cards vs Twins! The only thing I would have changed the entire day, was the heat and the Cardinals to win!!!! Thankfully we picked a night game to attend and it was cooler than during the day! We sat higher up in the stands, our seats were covered and there was a little breeze. We are definitely going to go to some more games in the future!!!
