Fall Baseball 2010 ~ Newburgh ~ Coach: Bill Casey ~ Age 9
Last week was a crazy week around our house. We signed up for it but it's still crazy! Brad was gone all weekend to a men's retreat with the guys from church. I spent Friday evening with the ladies from church, we went to dinner and participated in some good, clean fun. The men were camping close to where we live, so we soaped their windows and tee peed their cars! It was a blast. Jacob had a soccer game Saturday morning and I spent most of the day cleaning and getting the house ready for our Open House on Sunday. My mom and nephew came over and we spent Saturday evening together watching movies and hanging out. Sunday was church and Jordan's ball game, breathe................so we decided to skip out on church Sunday night. We usually do not do this but the kids hadn't seen Brad pretty much all week and with him being gone the weekend too, we needed some family time. Once we got back from the ball field, the Open House was over and Brad took the boys out in the back yard and they practiced baseball and played a little football. I cooked a big supper and we finished the night off by watching the Manning Bowl~ GO COLTS!!!! The boys stayed up until half time and then were off to bed. We were so excited that the Colts won!!!! It was a great way to end the crazy, busy week and weekend!

This is Jordan's second year to play fall baseball in Newburgh and the entire family loves it. It is so laid back, nothing like spring ball. Jordan has a fantastic coach and his team has only lost 1 game! The Marlins are a great group of kids and play well together as a team! My nephew is playing in the league below Jordan's, so if we're not watching Jordan then we're cheering on Justin!

On Sat., Sept. 4, we enjoyed a beautiful, cool, pre-fall day with my parents at their home in Spencer County. Brad and my bro-in-law helped my dad put a new roof on so my parents can get their house listed to sell. My parents are in the final stages of purchasing 14 acres (5 we are buying from them) and their house needs a few repairs done. So Saturday while the guys were roofing, my sister and nephew and me and the boys spent the day with my mom. She made a big breakfast for us and we had an easy lunch of chicken salad, lunch meat and chips. My sister made her famous No Bake Cookies and some chocolate sandwich cookies. We spent the entire day outside with the boys while they played football, soccer and rode their bikes. Jacob practiced riding his bike with his Aunt Mindy and Grandma- he's almost got it! It was a wonderful day and ended with a date night with my wonderful husband at the Nagaski Inn- Japanese Steak House and ice cream to follow while my parents kept the kids over night. Sunday, we headed after church to Lake Rudolph to visit several friends that were camping over the weekend. We had a blast! The adults hung out and played corn hole while the kids rode bikes, played football and played on the playground. We ate and ate and ate all day! We ended the night around the campfire while the kids played BINGO for prizes. We left the campground around 11:30 and by the time we got 1 mile from the campground, the kids were out cold! We had a great day!
