We visited a new Christmas Tree Farm today- Goebel Farms! We typically go to Ahrens Christmas Tree Farm in Reo but we were told last year that they wouldn't be open this year. It was a different experience for us. It was raining and the only weekend we had time to get a tree. The farm is so big, that they have a huge barn full of pre-cut trees. Instead of taking the risk of getting sick, we decided to hunt for a tree inside their barn. We found a beautiful blue spruce, which hurt the wallet a little more than Ahrens! After our tree adventure, we headed to Grace's for some Chinese food. We've been hearing how good the food was, so we had to give it a try. We definitely have a new tradition!
Loge 4th & 5th Grade Student Council made the paper. They collected enough food for Thanksgiving baskets for families at Loge and more than enough to contribute to the local food bank! Great job kiddos!
The BHS Pioneers went up against the Castle Knights for their first game of the season. Jordan did great in his first game as a Pioneer. BHS ended up losing to Castle but it was a proud parent moment seeing Jordan playing on the high school, freshman team!
Couldn't
be more proud of this group of boys! They'll leave behind a 15-1
record...only one loss in the two years they got to play for Loge
Elementary! They have definitely played HARD, played SMART and most
importantly, they've played TOGETHER as a team. They celebrated with a game against their coach and teachers! After the game, they enjoyed pizza in the gym with everyone! What a great season!
Jacob loves being on the Student Council for Loge. This past Sunday, he spent the afternoon at his grandma's house making cookies for the police officers in Boonville!
Jacob had a great time cheering on his friends Cooper and Gavin in their championship game. The Broncos won and the kids celebrated with an over nighter at Cooper's house afterwards!
A sweet friend of my sister's took these photos of Jake this past Tues- her son plays for Sharon. The game was a nail bitter, we won 44-40!!!! Jake was the leading scorer with 18 points, this is the third game in a row he's led in scoring! He went from Mr. Assist (since 2nd grade) to Mr. Assist and Mr. Scorer! The Wildcats are 3-1, with our only loss being against JH Castle! Castle was our first game and away, even though it was our turn to host them at home! They should have won that game but who's counting!!! It's been a great season for the boys so far! Looking forward to Feeder Basketball Season, tryouts are this Sunday! GO JAKE!
Sunday we skipped church, we were wiped out. Jordan went to his church, Jake spent the night with my parents...Brad and I played hooky! Brad headed to the middle school at 11 to help with feeder tryouts and eventually met up with us later in the afternoon. I waited for Jordan to get home from church and then we headed to my parents house for a bonfire/cookout! We played corn hole, football, rode the four wheeler, ate and ate some more! It was such a great day spending time with all of our family! Jordan headed back to youth at 5 and we spent some time around the fire with my parents. It was another long, fun filled day but it was well worth it!!!
Halloween was a busy day for us this year! My morning started at 5:45, Jake's at 6:30 and Brad's at 7- Jordan was the only one who was able to sleep in! Jake and I participated in the first annual Jail Break 5K Run in Boonville. Jake ran with his Aunt Mindy and her friend and I walked! Jake rocked it, finishing a little over 3 miles in 24 mins! After the run, Jake headed to the football field to watch a couple games that his friends were playing in. At 4, we headed to his buddies house to go trick or treating! There were close to 25-30 kids there, it was crazy. After trick or treating, the kids hung out for a few hours playing baseball and football! Brad was Jordan's chauffeur, he had 2 parties to attend that evening! Brad met up with Jake and myself at 6:30 and we headed to Newburgh to watch Jus play in his championship football game at Castle High School! Just 15 mins in, it started to rain but we had a great time watching his team win!!!! After leaving Castle, Brad headed to get Jordan from 1 party and took him to another - our evening finally ended around 11PM! We managed to squeeze about everything into our day- it was an amazing day!!!!!
