My Country Boys

We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE living in the country! The boys spent some time after school yesterday working in the garden with their Papaw! They picked pumpkins, watermelons, tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. They love being outside, exploring things. The house building situation is moving so S L O W!!!! It looks like we won't be breaking ground until mid-late Oct. which means we will be living with my parents FOREVER! So far it is working out fine, we just need/want our own space back! I have to remember what the final result will be and be patient-uggg, it's easier said than done!

Youth Jr League Football Night

Friday night (Aug. 19) was Youth Jr League Night at Boonville High School. It was the Pioneers first home football game and they invited the "little guys" to come and watch them warm up. The kids also got to make a tunnel for the team to run through on the field! Jacob was so excited, he just loves football so much! We stayed for the game and the Pioneers won in OT against the Washington Hatchets! It was an awesome game, can't wait for the next one!!!!

4 Wheelin' in the Country

We got a 4 wheeler finally. My parents bought an older one for the kids to use and get use to driving. They are having a blast...me- I'm on pins and needles. 4 wheelers scare me but they are having fun and as long as they don't go too fast, I'm good!

First Day of School 2011

School started on August 11 and the kids are in full school mode! Jordan is finishing his last year of elementary school (5th grade) and Jacob is in the first stages of his (1st grade). Where has the time gone? This will be the last year that the boys will be in the same school together. Both boys love school and enjoy learning and do very well in school!

I am excited for the experiences that are in their future. I know they are covered in Jesus' blood and His hand will guide them in their decisions. They love Him and know they can call on His name when they are in need, when mom is not there to help.

Since Jacob is in 1st grade and going all day, I have started working more. I am officially a part-time stay at home mom which makes me sad. The last 10 years have flown by so quickly, I definitely think I blinked way too much!

End of Summer Fun

Summer was coming to an end and we had to pack as much in the last few days as possible!!!! The day before school started we had planned on swimming with my best friend Laurie and her kiddos but all the Vanderburgh County pools were closed. Instead we headed to Wesselman's Park for a picnic! The weather was absolutely perfect and the kids played and played, they had a blast! After we left, I took the kids for Tastee Freeze ice cream- it was the perfect ending to our summer break.

Football Camp

Jacob finally gets to play football!!!!! We are so excited in our house, you have no idea! Jordan tried football when he was a first grader and didn't like it. Brad and I are hoping and praying Jake likes it. We love football, basketball and baseball in the Fuller House so we are hoping for a football player since we have the other two covered! Jacob did great at camp, he got player of the day on Thursday. He was excited and I was excited considering he had a lot of anxiety during camp. He has never cried, had a stomach ache or worried about anything before. Camp was Mon- Fri and he started getting sick on Wed. I had to walk him out to the line and talk him into staying and giving it a "try". He said it was because he didn't know everything he needed to know about football. I encouraged him that this was his first year, it was flag football and that he would learn more and more every year he played. Brad works with him at home but that didn't seem to help him out! He has seemed to calm down while practicing with daddy, so fingers crossed he'll be our football player!!!!

Dolphin Cruise in PCB

While in Panama, we ventured out on the ocean for a Dolphin Cruise! It was the most amazing experience we've had other than the Wild Horse Jeep Ride from last year in Outer Banks! The kids LOVED it and we are so happy we decided to go! I love watching my kids experience things like this, they are memories that will last forever!!!!

More Crab Hunting in PCB

This trip was a success for sure!

Evening Adventure in PCB

Our evenings were spent fishing for creatures along the beach. The kids had a blast, I have to say that Brad and I did too! The kids caught crabs, fish and other creatures! We would leave the condo and hit the beach around 9 p.m. and stay out for a couple hours. We bought the kids nets and we would walk along the beach and when the tide came in, we would shine flashlights into the water. If the kids saw anything, they would head into the water with their nets in hand! The kids had so much fun, it was definitely one of our favorite things in PCB!
