Ice, Ice Baby, cheesey I know but I couldn't resist!

How beautiful right, no not really when it is everywhere you turn!

Tuesday night I watched the weather before bed and really didn't expect them to get it right this time. Brad was working on his sermon, he had to preach Wed. night and I went to be around 10:30. He was still on the computer and I woke up to a power surge around 11:30 and then BLACK! We put Jordan's mattress on our floor and brought the kids in around 12:00 so they could stay warm. The silence was deafening and it was so black, it was eerie. I got the radio out and found ole' trusty WIKY just to have noise. All you could hear all night was things cracking and falling. We never really slept that night and I was up and down looking out the windows and the above picture is what I saw. A huge limb on our car port.

We made it through the night warm, even though it was getting chilly fast. Around 7:30 Wed. morning, we got our power back, PRAISE GOD, to only lose it again around 9:00. This time it stayed off. Brad didn't mind getting out in the weather, so he took a drive. He said it looked like a war zone in Boonville. While he was out, he checked on our church and found it had power. He came home and took leftover spaghetti there and warmed it up for lunch. While we were eating lunch, we heard a loud crash and found this in our front yard!

The limb fell on the front of our house, so by now we have one on our car port, one on our chimney and now in the front of the house.

It fell straight down into the ground and PRAISE God it didn't go through our window! We have to move the limbs out of the way just to get out of the door.

Brad called into work and thankfully, they decided to shut the plant down! We hung out all day Wed. playing games and reading books.

Jordan played Candy Land and Memory game with Jacob. I am so proud of him because he thinks they are "baby" games but he entertained his little brother and made his day!

This is the boys new version of Candy Land, the monster truck version!

Saturday we took the kids to the Newburgh library and checked out tons of books for the next two weeks. Thank goodness, they came in handy yesterday! After sitting in the cold for a while, we left around 3:30 to the Beard's house. They are our friends from church and invited us over to stay with them for the evening! We had so much fun hanging out with them, playing the Wii, Rockband and Madden! Thank you Bobby and Stacey, we love you!!!! It has been an adventure this wonderful ice storm but I am so thankful that all of my family and friends are safe.

Mollie Sue arrived home approximately 9:00pm Evan & Jadie not far behind. I wasn’t there but oooh how exciting for them to all be together again. The trip went well, The closer we got the faster Justin drove…fast, but safely.
God has Blessed & Healed Mollie Sue & touched so many lives thru all of this. Justin said it was so hard but he & Mandy are going home with a healthy baby.
I think this is just the beginning of how God is going to use Lil’ Mollie Sue.
We thank each & everyone of you for all of your Love, Prayers & support. May God Richly Bless you all!!!

Snow Day '09

We finally got enough snow worth playing in and since school was cancelled, we took advantage of it! Jordan played basketball with Jacob's little goal since our big one fell over in the wind storm and broke (along with our trampoline safety net).
Jacob trying to hit me with a snowball.

My boys!

The beautiful, dumpy snowman they made on the trampoline. They used candy fruit slices (we had them leftover from our trip this weekend) for his features!

Jordan spent most of his time knocking down icicles.

Winter Retreat- Fusion Youth

What an awesome weekend we had at Camp Indi Co-So!!! We left Friday afternoon for Springville, IN with 14 youth members and leaders. It only took 2 hours to get there and when we arrived the group from Jasper was already there. We hung out with them and set up band equipment and unloaded the things we needed for the weekend. We had a service Friday night and then free time the rest of the evening. We played board games and hung out talking until the wee hours of the morning! Saturday we woke up and had breakfast and then Nikki taught during the Breakout Session. Then we had lunch and then played football in the "butt chillin" cold! The service Saturday evening was awesome, the kids were really receptive to the Holy Spirit! Then we had a Battle of the Sexes contest, cake decorating! One of the guys team won!!!! From then on, we had free time and hung out playing board games and talking into the late morning! Sunday was our last day there and we ended the retreat with another service then headed home. We stopped off at Pizza Hut in Bedford for lunch. Then.....the most amazing thing happened. Our new youth band, Fusion Youth band led praise and worship for the Sunday evening service at church. The kids came back from the retreat expecting God to continue His work! The spirit fell on our church and 5 of our kids gave their hearts to the Lord and we had one baptism of the Holy Spirit! Praise God for His faithfulness and for the kids' hearts being open to Him! I pray now that this Fire continues in our kids! Winter Retreat '09 Bonded by Fire was an awesome experience!!!!

Prayer for Mollie Sue

On 12-5-08 God gave us Mollie Sue. The first 5 weeks of her life have been quite a battle. Right now she is at Riley's Childrens Hospital with RSV and the H-flu. She is on a ventilator and many medications. Mollie is fighting hard and hopefully soon we will be able to take her home to see her big brother and big sister who miss and love her very much. ~ Justin and Mandy Overton

Christmas, it's a wrap!!!

On Jan. 5, we celebrated our last Christmas with my dad's side of the family. Everyone works and has their own families, so we usually get together around the first of the New Year. Above is a picture of my Grandma Knight (my dad's mom) and all her great-grandkids!
Kate playing her new DS game!

Jordan, his fav. present of the day!!!

Cousins, Justin and Katelyn

The ladies playing a card game called "Pass The Trash" (or Screw Your Neighbor). It was a blast!!!! This was our last Christmas until Dec. 25, 2009!

Marriage according to Jacob

Jacob is our youngest and there is never a dull moment with him around! He loves all things boy and enjoys baseball, CARS, tools, Diego, Batman and Franklin. We were sitting in the living room yesterday watching Sprout and this is the conversation we had:

Jacob: Why is your and daddy's picture on the wall?

Me: That's a picture of when mommy and daddy got married.

Jacob: Did you tiss (kiss) daddy?

Me: Yes and you will kiss your wife when you get married.

Jacob: Yuck!

Me: I laugh and say, yes you will

Jacob: I not getting married, married yuck.
Me: You will one day, still laughing and teasing him
Jacob: No............................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We tease him sometimes about having a "girlfriend" at the church we go to. He gets all mad and says, "I not a boyfriend"!!! He also gets grossed out when he sees Brad and me kiss! It is so funny!!!!!
(I don't know what's wrong with the spacing at the bottom, I tried to fix it but nothing changed!)

New Year's Day at The Beard's

Our friends from church, Bobby and Stacey Beard invited some of us over for a party on New Year's day. Kendall and Kaylen (one's on the left and right) are Bobby and Stacey's girls. Camryn (in the middle) is Pastor Kris and Nicole's daughter.
Anna (our pastor and wife's other daughter) and Jacob are buddies. They are either loving on each other or fighting. They played pretty good all evening, here they are eating potato chips together. Jordan didn't get to make it, he decided he would rather spend the night with one of his cousins.

Miss Anna Brown

The men doing what they do best, watching football!

Brad and Kyle (he's one of the guys in our youth group) playing a little Rock Band!

Nic and I rockin it out on Rock Band, a little Bon Jovi and Soundgarden!

We love hanging out with our friends, it's nice just to kick back and not worry about anything. We are so thankful for the friendships we have at church and with our other friends.
