Tuesday night I watched the weather before bed and really didn't expect them to get it right this time. Brad was working on his sermon, he had to preach Wed. night and I went to be around 10:30. He was still on the computer and I woke up to a power surge around 11:30 and then BLACK! We put Jordan's mattress on our floor and brought the kids in around 12:00 so they could stay warm. The silence was deafening and it was so black, it was eerie. I got the radio out and found ole' trusty WIKY just to have noise. All you could hear all night was things cracking and falling. We never really slept that night and I was up and down looking out the windows and the above picture is what I saw. A huge limb on our car port.
We made it through the night warm, even though it was getting chilly fast. Around 7:30 Wed. morning, we got our power back, PRAISE GOD, to only lose it again around 9:00. This time it stayed off. Brad didn't mind getting out in the weather, so he took a drive. He said it looked like a war zone in Boonville. While he was out, he checked on our church and found it had power. He came home and took leftover spaghetti there and warmed it up for lunch. While we were eating lunch, we heard a loud crash and found this in our front yard!
The limb fell on the front of our house, so by now we have one on our car port, one on our chimney and now in the front of the house.
It fell straight down into the ground and PRAISE God it didn't go through our window! We have to move the limbs out of the way just to get out of the door.
Brad called into work and thankfully, they decided to shut the plant down! We hung out all day Wed. playing games and reading books.

Jordan played Candy Land and Memory game with Jacob. I am so proud of him because he thinks they are "baby" games but he entertained his little brother and made his day!

This is the boys new version of Candy Land, the monster truck version!
Saturday we took the kids to the Newburgh library and checked out tons of books for the next two weeks. Thank goodness, they came in handy yesterday! After sitting in the cold for a while, we left around 3:30 to the Beard's house. They are our friends from church and invited us over to stay with them for the evening! We had so much fun hanging out with them, playing the Wii, Rockband and Madden! Thank you Bobby and Stacey, we love you!!!! It has been an adventure this wonderful ice storm but I am so thankful that all of my family and friends are safe.
