I want to be a kid forever!

Jacob is learning about astronauts at preschool and our conversation consisted of this when I picked him up today and asked him what he learned:

Jacob: My favorite planet is Earth and we learned about those things that are hot and red and yellow and come crashing down.

Me: You mean asteroids or meteors. The planets are up in the sky, did you know that?

Jacob: Heaven is in the sky too and Earth's where we live. I also like Pluto, it's blue. I don't 'member if it was a meteor or asteroid. I want to be an astronaut when I get bigger and be a football player.

Me: That would be cool if you were an astronaut Jake.

Jacob: I want to be a daddy too but an astronaut would be cool.

Jacob: Never mind, I want to be a kid forever!

Me: You can't be a kid forever Jake.

Jacob: Yeah you mean like Jordan, he's getting bigger and he wants to be a daddy too.

Oh how I love my kids! I wish they could stay kids forever!

Jake's first game, oh how I love the game!

Jacob is now playing basketball! His first game was last Sat., Jan. 16 and he did so good! His defense was great and he scored a basket! Brad and I were so proud of him because he's the littlest and youngest guy on the court. He's only 4 and is playing with Kindergartners and 1st graders. He had his second game today, Jan. 23 and he played good as well. No baskets this time but he got some steals and played really well defensively! I enjoy watching both the boys play sports, there's nothing like it!

Love, love, love me some basketball!

I LOVE watching my boys play basketball! Jordan was on fire during his game last Sat., Jan. 16. He scored 12 or 14 points during his game. He played today as well and had about 10 points!Last night, Fri., Jan. 22, we took the boys to watch Boonville play. Jordan got to sit on the sideline with the Pioneers and with his buddies and then they went into the locker room after the game. He was so excited that his friend Ben asked him to go. He truly loves the game and studies every aspect of it. Hopefully one day he'll play for the Boonville Pioneers!

Please pray for Haiti

My cousin Michelle is living in Haiti, working with the Hands and Feet Project. Please pray for her, the other workers and the children in the orphanage where she works. The people of Haiti need our prayers and need to turn to God. Please keep them in your prayers!

Snow = Snow Day = Fun in the Snow!!

Today was the kid's first snow day of the school year and the new year! I really doubted that we would get any snow, let alone have a snow day. I was surprised when Brad woke me up at 6:00 and said school was cancelled. Jacob doesn't go to school on Tues. and Thurs. but Jordan was super excited to stay home. From the time I woke up until I took the kids out, they begged to go play in the snow! I took them out and after 45 mins., I had to make them come inside. I was freezing and the wind was picking up. They enjoyed getting some fresh air and running some energy off playing football and baseball. They tried sledding with a trash can lid but it didn't work well! Jordan's hoping for more snow so he can miss school tomorrow too but I doubt that will happen!

A funny end to our Christmas Vacation!

Brad and I took the boys and met Mindy and Justin at the movies to see the Chipmunks! It was such a great movie. The kids laughed and danced, it was such a great ending to a wonderful break! Both kids got off to school today fairly well, Jordan was up for about 3 hours once we put him to bed. He couldn't sleep, I think he was anxious to go back to school. I must say, this was an awesome break but a sad one too. It looks like this will be my last Christmas break to spend with the kids because I will return to work this fall. I am sad but also ready to take some time for myself. I love my kids and have enjoyed being at home with them the last 7 years but it is time for me to focus on me.

New Year's Eve '09

We celebrated New Year's Eve with my sister and her family. They were gone to Baltimore for Christmas to visit my brother-in-law's family, so we decided to spend some time together and ring in the new year. We made homemade fried chicken, grn. beans, mac-n-cheese and my sister made so many desserts, it was ridiculous! We played the Wii and Uno Attack all night. Once the kids went to bed, the four of us played The Price Is Right and Family Feud on the Wii. We had a great time spending the night at my sister's house and ringing in the new year!

Christmas w/the Knight's side

I again didn't take very many pics, I don't why. Sometimes picture taking is more of a bother and you can't enjoy things as much! I took a few shots of our Christmas with my dad's side of the family. We had Christmas at my aunt and uncle's house in Evansville. We had a blast playing bingo (with prizes for the winners!) and Uno attack. The kids joined in both games and we really enjoyed ourselves. The kids got more DS games, money and gift cards.
