Gattitown and Orange Leaf

Yesterday, my sister and I took the boys to Gattitown to cash in their report cards.  All 3 boys received straight A's and got a $7.00 game card.  They played while my sister and I visited.  After wards, we took the boys to Orange Leaf- a yummy yogurt place!  They loved it and are excited to go back again.  Jacob said it was his favorite ice cream place!  We left Orange Leaf and headed to Mindy's house so the boys could play for a few hours.  It's been a great break for them, lots of time with their favorite cousin Justin!

Spring Break 2012

The kids' Spring Break has been really low key this year.  Monday, March 26, we headed to Lincoln State Park for the day.  We hiked, ran, played baseball, basketball and had a picnic lunch.  We had a great day until  my car wouldn't start.  The DNR guys had to come and jump the van twice.  After the second jump, we left and headed straight to AutoZone.  Thankfully, I only needed a new battery, cheap compared to what it could have been.  We ended the day with Tastee Freeze ice cream and the boys went to their grandparents to spend the night.

Jordan's 11th Birthday - IceMen Game

On Friday, March 23, we celebrated Jordan's 11th Birthday- a tad early!  He doesn't turn 11 until April 11 but he wanted to take some friends to watch an IceMen game before their season was over.  The kids had fun, he took Cody and Evan from school and Jordan C. from church.  Jacob, Justin and Mindy went with us.  The IceMen won 2-1 and the kids had a blast!  Cody stayed over Friday evening and the boys hung out and played video games for some of the night.  11 years old - where has the time gone?

Jacob's 1st Grade Field Trip

Thursday, March 22, Jacob's 1st grade class went on a field trip to see The Lorax.  The movie was super cute and the kiddos loved it.  After the movie, we headed to Newburgh Lock and Dam for a picnic.  The weather was perfect and the kids played for 2 hours straight.  I just love Jacob's friends and their moms, it was so nice to hang out with them for the day!

It's #3 for Jake!

Jacob lost tooth #3! He is so excited to lose his teeth, that I find him pulling them out on his own in the bathroom! The first tooth is growing in fine but I'm not sure the other 2 will have room to grow in. So I expect that our visit to the dentist in July will bring bad news- I hope I'm wrong!

Jacob's Basketball Season '11-'12

What a great basketball season! Jacob played on two teams this season, CAM and EBA. Brad coached both teams along with our friend Derrick. The CAM team played at a local church in Boonville and the season ended with only 1 loss (by 1 point)! Brad and Derrick put a team together to play at EBA in Evansville. That season was not as good- they won 0 games!!! The experience really benefited the boys. The teams in Evansville are mainly travel teams that play and practice together all the time. The boys did great with losing even though they left it all out on the court! Brad saw such an improvement in the boys as the season ended. Jacob cannot wait until next basketball season but he's ready to play some baseball!!! We have about 3-4 weeks of "down" time until baseball season starts! Bring on baseball and warmer weather!
