1,2,3 Strikes You're Out!

It's still baseball season in the Fuller house. Fall Baseball Season that is! Today, Jordan and Justin (my nephew) both had games in Newburgh. They both played at the same time, so this little guy went back and forth, back and forth between fields. He wore me out just watching. Jordan's team (FL Marlins) won 8-5 against the Cincinnati Reds and Justin's NY Yankees fell 1 short to the Cards. It was a great day at the ball field followed by a swim bday party for a friend at church. Whew, the weekend is already over and none of us got any rest!

Happy Birthday Brad!!!!

Today is Brad's 33rd birthday and I am so thankful that he's mine! Brad is a wonderful dad to our children and a wonderful husband. He is very "hands on" with the boys and enjoys being involved in every part of their lives. He is a caring, loving and selfless husband and is there for me through everything. He works hard to provide for our family, which allows me to stay home with the boys. Brad's heart is for the youth of this nation and he loves making a difference in their lives by living out the call God has placed in his life. He loves the Lord with all his heart and is the head of our home as God has called him to be. He is a man of integrity . I love you Brad more and more every day. I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!!!

I Think the Fam is Ready for Fall!

Nothing says Fall like Football! The kids play football pretty much all year but something in them clicks when football season starts and that's all they want to play. I guess their dad has brainwashed them or it's just in them as boys. Who knows, we're juggling soccer and baseball too, so it's kind of crazy! This was the scene in our back yard Monday night and I had to capture it for the future. My boys have such an awesome dad, he is very hands on and I am so thankful for him. Brad's birthday is Friday and we're going to celebrate with friends at dinner. I am so thankful I married him, that God placed us together to experience life. Fall is around the corner and I couldn't be happier. Pumpkins, leaves, all the smells of fall, Halloween, cooler weather, apple picking, home made caramel apples, mums, scarecrows and FOOTBALL!!!!!

The Fun in the Sun is Over at Holiday World!

I'm really late in posting this, we actually went to Holiday World on Monday, August 9. It was our last time to go for the summer because school started on that Wednesday! The boys had a blast as usual. It's hard going on the weekends once school starts because the boys have ball games and practices then. So this was probably our last visit this year and as you can see in the last picture, the boys were not happy! Actually, they were trying to act cool and tough! Boys........!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Independence!

INDEPENDENCE is a wonderful thing but it's bittersweet at the same time, especially when it involves your children. Today was the big day for Jacob, I let his brother (Jordan) take him into school for the first time. He has been wanting this since the first day of school but my heart couldn't let it happen that fast! I promised them a trial run today if they both were good this week. They were super excited last night when I told them that today was the day! We went over drop off rules (no horse playing, take your brother to his locker, make sure he gets into class and head to your hallway). They both kissed me good-bye and my heart left the van and entered the school. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This hurts so much but it is for the best. In one breath, I am telling them to make sure they do this and that because mom isn't always going to be around and in the next breath, I'm saying that I'm not ready for you to grow up. It is hard being a parent but at least they are excited about independence and it's not being forced on them. I love my boys, it's hard raising them but God makes every day a new day and I am so thankful for that!

Family Night at Church - Back to School Bash

Saturday, August 7, our church rented out the spray park at City Lake and held Family Fun Night before school started on August 11. We had hot dogs, chips, taco salad and tons of desserts. The kids had a blast and the adults were able to fellowship together. It was a perfect evening all the way around!

School Memories

No pics today, just an entry so I can remember these moments. Today went smoother than yesterday as far as our morning routine. Both boys were easy to wake up and still excited for school. Jordan put the finishing touches on his Brown Bag Presentation. He had to find 8 items that answered the 8 questions his teacher asked and they had to be small enough to fit in a brown paper lunch bag. Questions were for example:

~What career/job do you want when you're older: Jordan found a picture of Dicky V., a famous sports announcer...he's wanting to be a sports analyst when he grows up!

~ What is your hobby: he took a baseball card because he collects baseball cards.

It was a neat project and at the last minute he changed his mind on the What do you dislike the most question: his first answer was broccoli, so we had a piece of broccoli ready but he changed it to the Cubs baseball and picked a Cubs baseball card!

Jacob was excited again today for school. He was so excited that when we arrived at school, he told me he wanted Jordan to take him in. Ummmmmmmmmmmmm........................NO! I don't think so. He asked why and I simply told him that I wasn't ready for that and we'll see about it in the future, the very distant future! He told his brother to have a good day as we parted hallways and a teacher commented on how sweet that was......if she only saw them when they fought!!!! He took his folder out of his backpack by himself and put the pack away in the locker.....his teacher encouraged us to let them do things themselves. I don't have a problem with Jacob doing things on his own, he makes his own pb&j sandwiches, brushes his teeth on his own, gets dressed alone, gives himself a bath (with our supervision of course), he does chores....he's pretty independent. We headed down to his room and said our good byes and he went in alone. So much easier than yesterday. The house is quiet but I plan on getting a lot accomplished today. 4th grade day #3 and Kindergarten day #2 is being written right now, I pray they have a great day!

Soccer in the Fuller House?!!!!

Well.....we signed Jacob up for soccer. It's the first time soccer has been played in the Fuller house! Jacob is too young to play fall baseball in Newburgh and too young for football, so we thought he needed to stay busy and our only option was SOCCER!!! He has a fantastic coach, she is great with the kids. He said he liked it, so that's a start. It is definitely different than any sport the kids have played up until now. It will be a great season, Jacob's sure to have lots of fun!

The Newest Loge Wildcat!

Jacob's 1st day of Kindergarten started at 6:45. He woke on his own and was ready to start the day. I made sausage and peanut butter and jelly toast for breakfast per the kids' request. We headed to school after taking several pictures at home. Once inside, we ventured down the Kindergarten hallway taking in the memories that were being made. We found Jacob's locker, he practiced opening and closing it at least 10 times! Then we headed for his room, the part I dreaded the most. The hallway was safe because we could still leave or maybe we were just there to see Jordan. The room meant it was real! He immediately spotted a friend from preschool, then another one. Then the look of fear came on his face, he looked like he was going to cry. I lost it then and as soon as he turned it on, he turned it right off. I tried so hard to hide the fact that I was crying and I succeeded. He sat down by two buddies from preschool and began coloring right away. We said our goodbyes and I held my tears in until I got inside my van. Then, I lost it BIG time. He'll be ok, I know that beyond a shadow of doubt. I just cannot handle them growing up, they're still babies to me. He had a wonderful day and was so excited when he got home. He talked non-stop and is ready for tomorrow. Lord, I thank You for the precious boys You gave me. I pray that you help us raise them to be Godly men after Your heart.
