Jacob's Preschool Graduation

On Friday, May 7, Jacob graduated from Imagination Station Preschool at Living Hope Community Church. There were 24 kids that graduated, Jacob had a total of 8 (including him) in his class. His teacher was Tina Phillips and she is a phenomenal teacher, the Lord has blessed her with an amazing gift. I never worried about Jacob because I knew she would treat him like her own. Brad graduated with her and her husband and they are friends, so that helped too! The kids came out to "Pomp and Circumstance" and did the pledge and then the program began. They sang the "Days of the Week" song to the tune of "The Adams Family", they sang their vowel song and then performed "Toody Ta". Then each child received their diploma and announced to everyone what they wanted to be when they grew up. Jacob wants to be a baseball player (for the Cardinals). The program was adorable and the reception afterwards was wonderful. Some of us moms got together and made crafts with the kids for decorations and I took each child's picture for a banner. Preschool was an awesome experience, I am so thankful that Brad and I decided to enroll Jacob. He has made some life long friends, Hudson, Eli and Gavin. Once the reception was over, we celebrated at Los Bravos with Mexican food and gifts. It is so hard to believe I am the mother of a Kindergartner and a future 4th grader. Where has the time gone?

Preschool Picnic

Jacob's class had a picnic on Monday, May 3 ( I know I'm a little out of order here)! We took the kids to City Lake here in Boonville and they played and had lunch. The kids were so good and had so much fun. Right before we left, each child received a bucket full of summer goodies. Some of the kids in his class will attend different elementary schools this fall, so we are going to try our best to get the kids together for play dates. Jake will sure miss his buddies!

Jacob's Preschool Easter Party

Jake had another wonderful party at preschool. The kids made Easter picture frames, played games, read a story and had an Easter Egg Hunt! The kids were so good and had so much fun. I cannot believe there is 1 more month of preschool and then preschool graduation. Jake is officially registered for Kindergarten as of April 1! Baseball season is in full swing, his first practice was March 30. I need life to slow down a bit!

I want to be a kid forever!

Jacob is learning about astronauts at preschool and our conversation consisted of this when I picked him up today and asked him what he learned:

Jacob: My favorite planet is Earth and we learned about those things that are hot and red and yellow and come crashing down.

Me: You mean asteroids or meteors. The planets are up in the sky, did you know that?

Jacob: Heaven is in the sky too and Earth's where we live. I also like Pluto, it's blue. I don't 'member if it was a meteor or asteroid. I want to be an astronaut when I get bigger and be a football player.

Me: That would be cool if you were an astronaut Jake.

Jacob: I want to be a daddy too but an astronaut would be cool.

Jacob: Never mind, I want to be a kid forever!

Me: You can't be a kid forever Jake.

Jacob: Yeah you mean like Jordan, he's getting bigger and he wants to be a daddy too.

Oh how I love my kids! I wish they could stay kids forever!

His buddies are Eli Smith and Hudson Nelson and they three get along really well. He loves school and is doing really well. We received his progress report/evaluation yesterday and he did so good, his teacher says he's a joy!

Jacob's Preschool Progress

Jacob is loving preschool. This progress report was sent home today on the things he has learned since the end of Aug. He amazes me every day with recognizing letters, numbers and words. He can read some sight words, which blows me away. I am so proud of him and so thankful we decided to enroll him into a preschool!

Jacob's first day of Preschool

Well, we both survived the big day! Jacob is officially a preschooler! Brad and I had been discussing sending Jacob to preschool for the last few months. We decided it was best for him to experience preschool and since I am returning to work next year when he enters Kindergarten, we thought the transition might be easier for him with preschool under his belt. He has been looking forward to going for the last month. He is attending Imagination Station at Living Hope Commun. Church and he has a wonderful teacher, Mrs. Phillips. Tina and her husband Kasey, graduated with Brad and Brad and Kasey are really good friends. I feel completely safe leaving him in her hands. She has 3 boys of her own and little girl due in Dec. and she's an incredible mom! Jacob is also in class with his buddy Anna (our pastor's daughter). Jacob will go Mon. Wed. and Fri. from 8:30-11:00. The school uses awesome curriculum that will have Jacob reading by the end of the year! I am so excited for Jacob and the many things he will experience at preschool! He was a little scared to get in line but once they started to go into the building he smiled and waved. He was excited to use his brother's old backpack for the first day since his preschool bag was being embroidered with his name. I cried a little, I will admit that...I'm a mom!!!

Tomorrow's the Big Day

Tomorrow is Jacob's first day of preschool. He is excited to go and I am having mixed emotions! I am so happy for him but a little sad that he's big enough to go. He has a wonderful teacher, Mrs. Phillips so I know he will be in good hands. I will post pictures tomorrow!
