Cape Hatteras Lighthouse- Outer Banks

The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse was the second lighthouse we saw during our trip to NC. It is the tallest lighthouse in the nation, 12 stories tall and 268 steps to reach the light. Jacob and my parents were the only ones that ventured to the top. I am deathly afraid of heights and wish now that I would have conquered my fear. The others just weren't up for the climb, so my 5 year old along with his mamaw and papaw climbed to the top. Jacob thought it was the coolest thing in the world. I was so proud of him, that's a lot of steps along with the heat for a little guy. After wards, the kids were asked by the park ranger if they wanted to make a t-shirt. Both boys jumped at the chance to do so and they used special crayola crayons on paper that you can iron on a t-shirt. It was the neatest thing, we still need to iron their design on a t-shirt!
